We rock! This was a great run, and I am SO happy about it! I was nervous about doing 20 & wasn't sure I was up to it, but it turned out great and I'm thrilled I went for it. It was hot, and although I enjoy the heat, I knew it could still take a toll. I met the Lunatics at Reactor Park. There were a lot of gals out today, Jaira, Robin, Maria, Elly, and me so it was really nice to have a lot of people to be near. Even some of the guys hung with us for parts of it as well. I had done the first loop of this run with them before, so I was somewhat familiar. It was fine. I didn't feel bad, but I didn't feel great either so when we finished the first 10 I was still wondering how the rest would go. After a brief stop at the cars Jaira and I headed back out . We lost several of the group, including the rest of the girls at that point. We trudged back up Carre Franke. That was the hardest part of the whole thing for me - getting back up that hill for the second time in the same run. After that, the route that seemed to take so long when I drove it last night actually felt like it went pretty quickly. Besides gathering strength and moral support from Jaira, I also needed her to tell me where to turn! I'm not sure if I can think and run at the same time sometimes! Geesh! We spent a little bit of time with Brett, Dale & Dan on the second loop, but other than that we were mostly on our own. I planted water & Propel at several locations last night and that worked out very well. Water was at Trinity Pres. Church right b/4 the turn to Manor, Propel on Stewart just past Garth, water at the corner of College and Rollins, and Propel near Ashland Rd. This was a good arrangement although the Propel at Ashland was probably too close to the College & Rollins water. At any rate, with this set up it allowed us to take smaller, more frequent drinks which works much better for me than chugging a bunch at once. Afterward, while talking to Andy, I found he has the same situation with the water intake & sloshing I do so that made me feel better. We did have several parts with direct sun, but we also had a lot of shade. There were several hills, but they weren't horrible. I lost about 2 miles on Garmin somehow, so that's why the above splits are just 18. I got the total time from Jaira for our average pace. Funny, how this was a longer run, still with hills, but we went so much faster than last week! We finished strong & felt good!

Should mention too that I had pasta Thur. p.m. & Fri. noon, then steak/baked pot. Fri. p.m. - had a little protein drink b/4 bed &, the usual instant oatmeal w/ applesauce b/4 the run in the a.m. w/ a little luna bar. At the car I had about 1/2 a bananna, & a bite of Luna bar.
