Fun day today, ran the yearly 5k fun run out in pozo this 4th of July morning. Nothing serious, just ran it at a hard but comfortable tempo pace with some of my old high school teammates. Actually went a lot better than I expected; I hit exactly the time I wanted to hit but I wasn't sure how it would feel. Felt like a normal tempo, and happened to be exactly around my tempo pace from this last season, which is a pretty good sign considering my effort and only 5 weeks of training under my belt so far. Anyways, took it out with a 5:02, picked it up just a hair to a 4:58 and then ended with a 4:48 to help push my friend the last 800m. Overall felt pretty good, definitely could have ran a lot faster but I'll save that for the upcoming season.
