Woke up feeling pretty blah but decided to do my long run anyway. Started at the Whitney Avenue parking area in Trumbull and headed slowly north through Monroe. It took a couple miles to get going, but then things were about as good as can be expected on such a hot morning.
I was happy to find that the trail is mostly packed dirt once you get into and past Wolfe Park. At one point in the run a deer stood in the middle of the trail, giving me quite a look. It finally darted off into the woods when I got to without about 15 feet. I don't think I hit the northern end of the trail, so I'll likely try this route again once my long runs get a little longer to see where it ends.
