Another fairly easy run. This was a dry-run for the aerobic work I'm planning for this summer. I set the Garmin to yap at me if my HR reached 152. My goal is to maximize my speed at an average of 145 bpm, which I think I can sustain for a full marathon (or beyond) without risking injury. I'm fairly happy with this baseline, though I hope to get the pace at 145 bpm down to about 7:15 or even 7:10 by September. After adjusting the pace about 30 second per mile to account for race conditions, that works out to about a 1:27 half marathon.
This was also my longest road run in my shiny new NB Minimus Roads. It felt great! This minimalist shoe thing is working out wonderfully so far.
