Notes
Ran most of the course at an easy clip, taking a couple shortcuts b/c I was only scheduled to do 12.5 miles today. The course is mostly flat with a few rolling hills at the start and the end. The middle miles are pretty much as flat as you'd expect given that they are right at a beach. The (new?) boardwalk in Silver Sands State Park was nice, but I wonder what it's going to be like with possibly several hundred runners pounding on it.
This was the first run of the year where I wore my Nathan belt so I could drink on the run. It also allowed me to bring my iPhone to check the map in case I got lost. I ended up using the map a few times, particularly in the first couple miles, which involved lots of turns on side roads. For fuel I mixed up some Gatorade Endurance, which I noticed is what they'll be serving at the race. I didn't have any stomach issues, so I think I'm o.k. to drink it in the race.
