Plan was 40 min warmup into 4x1600 @ LT w/ 400 jog, 20 min cooldown. Goal pace was 5:35-45 based off of what John said, but I think those may be track paces?
Well, I was all over the place with this one. Rep 1 was a little slow so I tried to be a little faster on rep 2, was way too fast, tried to slow down and ran about what I wanted on the third, then same effort ran 10 seconds slower on the fourth. I usually run mostly on effort and just check the split at the end and that didnt work for me today, I had no sense of pace. This was almost entirely continuous, I had to stop a few times during the recovery jogs to warm my hands since I dressed a little unprepared.
I have mixed feelings about how this went. I was super dizzy and had a headache at work 2 hours prior to starting my workout, so I'm really just glad I was able to get out there and put in a slightly harder effort. The temp was about 30 when I started and dropped to 20 by the middle.
I need to acquire some flats, maybe 1400 or 1500s for my next workout so I can start getting used to them.
