Notes
This has been my goal for over 2 years and I finally accomplished it in my final track meet. I didn't know what to expect because my legs felt fatigued, but I knew I'd have someone to chase to get under. Made sure to be patient and not open too fast and just settle in. I heard 64 then 2:10 and knew I had a chance but didn't hear another split after that. I was gaining on 1st and tried to go around him with 300 left but his 1:51 speed kicked in and he dropped it and I tried to hold on the best I could. The rough splits Cody got were 47.8 (64), 66, 64.7, 58.9. The Dragonflys felt amazing and it was fun to rock the orange and blue hair tie. I am so proud, happy, and thankful.
When I ran 4:06 at Nats freshman year the first thing Richard said to me was "I thought you were fast?" then when I ran 4:00 at Nats sophomore year the first thing he said was "don't come back til you get that extra second." To me finally breaking 4 he said "yo nice." I'm fulfilled.
