wind has shifted, felt like it was coming from the north today, good cooling breeze on the way upriver. the fan thingy they've installed on the upper stretch of hikichi wasn't moving at all, however. maybe my perception of wind was just my incredible speed--ha. barefoot and no foot problems to report. yay. no birds. waves so-so
