Pacing Hunter for last leg of bigfoot 100k

Hunter has the good pics but ran through an incredible sunset behind a westward ridgeline with riveting colors making mt Adams and Rainier glow pink in the distance. Then, with the dwindling remains of light, we ran through the plains of abraham. Beautiful landscape that looked like a high desert as if we had teleported to Arizona. We ran as the coyotes howled and cackled out of sight but still very close. Howled back once or twice myself. Running with headlamps in front of and behind us was also a thrill. Then came the technical part. "Felt like playing hopscotch with satan" (my description to rob) as we had to hop across the fields of lava rocks and down into scrambly gorges. That was hellish in the dark and I couldnt imagine what it felt like for hunter. Here we were chased down by the next closest 100k run and we packed up and worked together. The last 2 miles opened up to a wider smoother trail and hunter turned in the burners. Hell of a finish and we dropped the guy who caught us.

Huge shout out to hunter for kicking ass and his 4th place finish (1st for age group) in his first ultra.
