this was an extraordinary race and I genuinely cannot believe I ran this fast, going in i thought 2:35 mid was a best case scenario. I nearly PR-ed in the half on the way home for gods sake. I was 15 seconds back from the Olympic Trials Qualifier pack of women, i caught up to them around mile 3 and ran with them until 16 or so miles. A few of us were off the front of the pack around that time and started pressing. with 8 miles to go I could tell I was going to be able to make it and started pressing HARD. I was rolling past whole packs of people at that point.
Running with the OTQ women was a lot of fun. It was neat seeing how supportive everyone was with each other trying to meet the same goal.
A lot of angst went into this race since I have had such a hard time getting to start lines and everything else that has been going on in my life. those last 8 miles i was just pouring it all on
