Notes

Okay so i was clocked at 58.76 but i did some math to adjust for the difference created by running an extra turn in lane six.

so first off we need to figure out how much distance is added per turn in lane six when compared to lane one. we know that lane one is seven laps to the mile while lane one is 8 laps to the mile. This tells us that the 14 turns taken over one mile in lane six account for 200 meters. Then we divide 200 by the 14 turns to find out the additional distance per turn. 200/14=14.2857 meters

Add this to the race distance of 400 meters and that gives us the distance i actually raced, 414.2857 meters.

now we need to find my rate of speed in meters per second. that means we divide 414.2857 by 58.76 and get a result of 7.0505 meters per second.

Now we need to apply this new rate of speed over the 400 meter race distance. This means i need to divide 400 meters by the rate of speed (7.0505 meters per second)

400/7.0505 = 56.73seconds

Sorry this log is kind of a pain but i really wanted to be able to accurately say what my time was because i know i have gotten a lot faster in the last year and so a 58.76 doesn't exactly do me justice.
