Beat my 2009 ghost at the Gig Harbor Monster Dash, but again came in 4th! It felt like a tempo run rather than a race -- this is what I could do, but feel like on a special day where things clicked and I felt motivated I could have gone bit faster. The 3 ladies in front of me started out as a wall side by side, and I wisely did not surge ahead of them. By mile 1 (6:24) I was about 10 seconds behind them, and the gap only widened. Hilly course, fun out and back, costumes, etc. Mapping software says 300 feet gain for the whole thing, so maybe it wasn't as much hill as it seemed. I didn't feel all that great, but didn't hate it either. Incredibly even-split. 16:09 out, 16:13 in with more uphill.
