12k's of Christmas, Kirkland, WA
YAY FINALLY BROKE FREE OF THE 7 MINUTE MILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Started out too fast of course (6:30 pace first 3 km), then the unexpected miles of hill slowed me way down, 5k time was depressing. Legs hurt a lot, residual fatigue creeping up them. But, downhill after 7k or so and legs finally loosened up+ a nice woman pushing me from behind--> I got to push joyfully, probably averaged 6:30-6:40s again the second half! SO HAPPY, great weather, hard but rewarding course, what a great day with Danielle and Kerry. Congrats to them as well.
It looks like the 3rd place woman was only 21 seconds ahead of me -- I never even saw her! I wonder what would have happened if I had gotten to chase her..
