Notes

This run was all about form. I felt my body getting tired-- probably from 3 hours of sleep-- right after the 3 mile point (conveniently located right at the turnback point). I ran the first 3 miles pretty comfortably, right on 6:45 pace. I think I probably managed to keep that pace by really focusing on my form and not letting the consistent, quick, shorter strides deteriorate. I checked my strides/min at the 1 mile and the 4 mile, both were right about 180-184. I then closed the last half mile in 5:04 pace, really focusing on keeping relaxed. I found the last stretch, which finishes uphill slightly, to be rather challenging. I may have pushed too hard to maintain the pace here, but I finished standing up and breathing comfortably, although the stairs up the apt were tougher than usual. Tomorrow, depending on how my legs/calves feel, I'll try to do some really easy running for 30-40 minutes. Jeff has expressed interest in running some more, and with him I have to keep it easier anyway.
