This was tough. I felt absolutely brilliant at the start. But it was a false front. Throughout the week leading up, I had some stomach troubles and wasn't able to eat as I should have. It escalated throughout the week and by the time I got to the night before the race, I stopped eating at about 8pm. In the morning, I was only able to take on a cliff bar and banana before a 10am start....meaning that 14 hours before the marathon I only consumed 300 calories. Then I was only able to get down one gel during the race. Qeue heart rate spike at mile 10 and a huge wall at mile 20 to make for a six mile death march to the end.

Happy to pull out a PR but I KNOW I was in way better shape than this. Hungry for another training block and another attempt. And also just hungry.
