Nice pace interval work. Skipped my road race as I didn't feel like driving to Richmond today - so what the hell, woke up early, strapped on the running shoes and went for a pace workout. Started out Maine cool (in the low 40s), so I walked around Harpers Ferry, did some writing in my journal and once the sun heated up things, got my gear on. Walked across the RR bridge over the Potomac and ran toward Sharpsburg on the C&O Canal trail. What an awesome trail with tons to see (although I ran this hard and didn't do much sight seeing). First mile was nice and I felt good, but a little fat from vacation fare. Got up to pace quick and fell into a groove. This was a nice run and I had some at the end to run the last two at race effort. Even saw a shed rattlesnake skin at mile 5 or so. Cool down run and back to the Ferry - Happy I decided to skip the race and run here. This was a good effort (8 out of 10) and loved the location.

Man you were flying on what appears to a rolling course. Well done!

thxs - love this trail, wish I lived closer... it was pretty flat though, A little uphill, but nothing too bad - how's the knee?
