2011 NCAC meet at Oberlin. Ran the mile and the 3k. The mile was a crazy race, didnt really turn out as planned. Started out okay, but Kevin was back with me and Donavan so I wasn't sure what to make of that. He finally sped up some but I could tell he wasn't going to run any stellar time. I hung around the middle of the pack and started picking people off with about 3 laps left. I went by Kevin and tried to get him to come with me but he didnt. The last 400 I kicked it in and in the last 50 an Alleghaney guy went past me. I got 5th and pr'd, 4:20. Im okay with the time because conference isnt always the place to PR, it was more important we score as many points as possible.
The I regrouped and ran the 3k. Thaat was a great race. Seth, Desalukumbo, and an oberlin guy all went to the lead, which left me leading the chase group for 3 laps, the a couple OWU guys, brian, oberlin, and WItt, and Alleghaney went by me and we all jockeyed for position over much of the middle portion of the race. It was exciting to watch the race unfold and I just kept right behind all the action and stayed in contact with the group. With about 7 laps left i went around everyone and again led the chase group, going after the Alleghaney guy. With 200 left the OWU guy went by me just as we passed the Ghenney guy, I ended up getting 7th, which I thought I was going to run better, butI scored a couple points and thats what we needed.
