Forums >General Running>what's the best thing that ever happened to you while running?
A group of strangers, unknown to me to this day, helped save my life...
Did an angel whisper in your ear and hold you close and take away your fear...In those long last moments
That's going to be a pretty hard one for anyone to top.

Big, hairy, unrealistic goals: 2:39:59, 15:59, 9:59, 4:39. Mara PR in Boston would be nice, too.
Wasn't meant as a 'topper', I'm truly grateful and in awe of what they did. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me on a run.
(immediately after the worst thing...)

No, I know you didn't mean it that way. I just meant what I wrote in a yes-that's-a-pretty-amazingly-best-thing-that-could-happen sort of a way.
This really begs for a bit more in-depth explanation!
2013 goals:
1. Run a minimum of 1 mile every single day of the year
2. Run 1500 miles in 2013
3. Get my weekly mileage above 40
4. Green belt in Shaolin Kempo
5. PRs: Sub-21 5k, Sub-45 10k, Sub-45 Spartan Sprint (8/3), Sub 1:55 HM (Oregon Wine Country HM, 9/1)
More Cowbell!
I found porn.
Note: This was a much bigger deal back in the 1980's.
When you're on your deathbed, you won't be wishing that you'd spent more time at the office. But you will be wishing that you'd spent more time running. Because if you had, you wouldn't be on your deathbed.
