Good Bad & The Monkey
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
What is the size of the file?
I found this. I am not sure if the video is greater than 5GB. Perhaps you can upload it to that site and then provide a link for others to view it?

But that site won't allow streaming.
What I would do is split it into 6 15-minute segments and upload each to youtube and create a youtube playlist.
1 gig.
I don't want to break it up into components.
This is finish line footage from a rinky dink race I just put on. The idea is that folks would scroll to the segment they want to see.
Open a blogger account. See point 11.
mta: or wait and see if someone creates a blog dedicated to your race. Then remind her that you set aside a pink monkey for her.
Put your own flash video player on the race's website and host the file yourself. Here is an open source one:

Someone posted footage of the entire NYC marathon from one particular spot close to the end. Obviously it was broken up into a lot of segments. I did manage to find myself by looking at finishing times of the other runners at the beginning of the clips. Kind of pain but fun to figure it all out -- yours would probably be a lot easier!
MTA: I should have said on youtube!

I still need to convert to FLV for that.
I don't think so. It says it supports MP4 and FLV. I am pretty sure MP4 and M4V are the same format, just a different extension name.

I cant find any files to download from here, even via the (empty) download pages.
I haven't used this software, so I can't say how well it works. Here is a link that seems to work for the download:

MTA: I was just able to download it. If you can't get it, I can email it to you. It isn't very big.
I just tested it with an m4v file and it works. I had to rename the m4v file to .mp4, but other than that I didn't convert it. It was pretty easy to install and use.
Whoa, whoa, whoa....
We were being filmed?
I guess I should have kept my pants on.
