I strained my groin in a 10k on New Years day. I'm still getting pain. Can anyone give me advice on what kind of aerobic training I can do in the meantime (I don't have access to a pool). I haven't done any running and I'm really afraid I will lose what I've built up. It is all very fustrating and is definately hurting my chances of running a marathon the first week of May.

In the chance that it's a cramp, try some gentle stretching. Include the hamstring in your stretches.

There's an older thread about this issue here: http://www.runningahead.com/forums/post/d859c9c9490f4b0db8e75530a9e52bac#focus

You might find some useful info or links.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help. I'm going to try to test it today after 2 weeks of not running. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
