I've got a fever...
On your deathbed, you won't wish that you'd spent more time at the office. But you will wish that you'd spent more time running. Because if you had, you wouldn't be on your deathbed.

Yes but....just doing research means you miss out on the camraderie and the neighborly chit chat! And maybe miss a boobie hug or two. I think the experienced oldies should just HTFU and post golden responses over and over (or cut and paste them). (my 2 cents)
I pronounce it Eff- Ay- Kue.

So how does a newb know to do the research instead of simply popping into the Running101 and asking a question, which would seem to be the natural inclination?

I'm an expert at nothing, so my opinion doesn't count for much. In my opinion. Ha. But I do know that the real experts are noticeably absent in these threads nowadays. For what its worth, there are people here that could tell you that via e-mail I've spent plenty of time answering questions, at length. Or helping people find the answers, from actual experts. But on here, I'm with Scout. I give up. There's just no way to win.
