What is really wierd is that the exact same thing happened to me...except for the first race and the 30 years ago parts.

This is one of the most important criteria in new scientific discoveries. No, not that they happen to Ilene, but that they are reproducible.

actually it was air-conditioning unit, not fridge (although i wish it HAD been fridge -- "sorry dear i HAD to eat all the ice cream!!!"). and no, the repair gnomes came and went without finding me (it's not easy being a recluse, you know.) and the entire process took considerably less than 30 years. and yes, 30 years from now i will make a point of starting a "wow i just realized that 30 years ago yesterday my air-conditioning unit broke and i realized that 30 years prior to THAT I had run my first race" thread.
