Frankenweenie - good stuff, on a par with Burton's Corpse Bride for me (3.9/5)

Watched Skyfall last night. Javier Bardem's character, Silva made the movie. He might have been the bad guy, but he was big, over-the-top and out shined everyone including Daniel Craig.
On my birthday a couple of weeks ago, we went to see A Good Day to Die Hard. Bruce Willis is still able to pull it off. I love that he's not a flawless hero. He makes mistakes, and bumbles and still manages to save the day. Jai Courtney played his son well. Had a lot of Bruce's charm and humor (just a little less of it), but was still a good addition to the movie.
Also, recently seen Bourne Legacy. I was super disappointed that they'd picked Jeremy Renner as the main character. To me, he just doesn't have Matt Damon's charisma or sex appeal. He played the roll well enough, just wish he'd had more umph and appeal. Did any of you like this movie as well as the Matt Damon versions?

Oh totally. We just watched that last weekend. Have you seen No Country for Old Men? He is even creepier in that one, if you can imagine. With even goofier hair.

Weird, I finally got around to Skyfall last night, too! Totally agree on Bardem. Could have used a bit more of him in the movie.
Dame Dench was also awesome, but that was expected. Looking forward to more Ralph Fiennes in future installments, along with the thrill I get from pronouncing his name correctly.
Did not expect the setting or the outcome of the final act! Pretty cool.

The wife and I watched Skyfall yesterday. All we had been hearing how "it's the best Bond movie in the series" and whatnot. I have to say we were both very underwhelmed by it. It was good and we enjoyed it, but nowhere lived up to it's billing and critical acclaim in our opinions. I almost feel like because the last one left a little bit of a sour taste in everyone's mouth, that this one was given some slack because everyone was hoping it was good. Still a good movie overall, but I guess for the Daniel Craig Bond we still prefer Casino Royale.

I'm with you. I would give CR at least a 9/10 of the Bond canon. Skyfall was great, but I'd give it an 8. I still think those 2 films are the best Bond films and DC is, by far, my favorite Bond. He has made Bond such a 3D character.

I certainly can't say it's been my favorite DC Bond movie-- they've been too far apart for me to judge accurately, but Silva was my favorite bad guy in them.
Omgosh, yes, I loved that movie too! I didn't recognize him at first, but once again a wonderfully unforgettable character.

I've only read Casino Royale, and don't recall if it was mentioned in that one...was Bond from Scotland in the books? I thought I remembered hearing that one of the controversial things about choosing Connery to play him was the Scottish accent, which was inaccurate for the character. That's one reason I was surprised at the setting for the climax.

Interesting... it's funny you should say that, that controversy has came up several times to my knowledge. I'm certainly no expert on it, but I do remember when Pierce Brosnan was selected people fussed because he was Irish. Apparently the Bond actors have been from a variety of countries even Australia-- George Lazenby.
