Now that was a bath...

Alan - if it kills me I am posting a blog update later. I miss my blogging! Either that or I will do some painting, I bought a huge canvas yesterday that is begging to be worked on. I'm a bit of a slacker on the posting front nowadays. The User Groups have been a victim of their own success and now I post mostly on the x-rated 100 mile club, lol, otherwise known as 100 miles of Scout's Entertainment. Dave - Sounds like another thing to mention at my appointment. I leave in 40 minutes. Eric - Stressed? Me? Jason, and everyone else - thanks for the thoughts. I'll let you all know if I manage to avoid the knife when I return. Claire xxx

Good luck, Claire. Get back to us soon and let us know how it went.

Thanks Lynn! I'm back and it all went fine. No thanks to the Doc. I have referred myself back to my regular Doc. I went in and said that I thought the biopsy was unecessary as that area had improved. He had a good look and asked if he could take a swab from an ulcer on my inner lip instead to check for the cold sore virus. I said that was fine, but I thought that seeing as I had already been treated extensively for herpes it was unlikely. He said unlikely but still possible, so we went ahead with that. He asked me to pop back in when I got the next abscessed ulceration fresh in my mouth so he could do a biopsy. I said 'yes' but thought, 'Not friggin likely mate, I'll be going back to my own doctor from now on.' As I left he called out 'Don't forget, come back when you've got something exciting for me'. I looked him in the eye and said 'I'm not sure that I want to excite you.' I'm going to see my own Doc and get a referral to whatever appropriate specialist she deems most suitable, I feel frustrated that I have no answer (I predict the herpes swab will show nothing and it takes two weeks to culture), but I feel so much better. Loving all my online friends and their support. Off to get new tyres and do some blogging. Claire xxx

A blog update AND getting to see tires spelled with a Y?! This is a great day! Wink I'm sorry this new doc was such a creep, but I'm glad you have a good regular doc. Hopefully you will get down to the cause of things very soon. I'm glad you are feeling better about thing, though. Smile k

Hi Claire, Just saw this thread, as I haven't been watching the forums much lately. I would say 'keep up' but you make it very clear you are doing that! So I will just add a big HUG from the other side of the planet... And I loved the exit line you delivered to that doctor! bas

Claire! I just found this thread. Here's another {{{{{HUG}}}}} from America. Please let us know how you're doing. That doctor sure needs a kick in the ass. Some bedside manner he has.

                        One day at a time.

                        Now that was a bath...

Well from now on I speak only to the strange and curious internet entity that is Dr Trent. I mentioned to the quack about allergies and he said 'No - definitely not'. I have however had a revelation thanks to Trent. Checking through my email account so I could accurately date when this all first started (I knew I had an important meeting about two weeks aftermy lip flared up) - I realised that my symptoms appeared a few days after we got our kitten. 'What if Trentie-poos is right?' I said to myself. And decided to put myself on a daily antihistamine. Now I have been doing this for six days and I have seen an improvement, about a 60% improvement infact. I am going to continue for another week and then if I am still better I will go to my doc and see what she thinks. My mouth isn't any better, but then the symptoms in my mouth didn't appear until we found out my daughter was pregnant. It seems plausible to me that my symptoms of abscessed ulcers could be stress related and not connected to my lip and nose, which could be allergy. Trent - are you God? Claire xxx Oh, and if anyone knows any hitmen operating in South Auckland for cut price torture. I'm looking.

Wink Naw, just a southerner. What antihistamine are you taking? Often, the simplest solution is the correct one. Rare cancers of the mouth, after all, are rare for a reason.
