Don't know if this counts, but:
It's my first time being a pacer. A little nervous, especially as the course is quite rolling and lots of folks will have Garmins telling them I'm going pacing them fast/slow/unevenly. I may not react well ...

Last chance for 2012. Anyone else? December Racing NAME DATE DISTANCE RACE LOCATION GOAL RESULT kencamet 12/2 26.2 Cal International Marathon Sacramento, CA <2:54
I think a better goal would be 2:54:06.... Either way it will be a PR.
Good luck in your pacing gig, Clive, I'm sure you'll do fine.
mbehr - I ran 2:54:08 in 2010 and then 2:54:07 in 2011 so you're right - I probably should put 2:54:06 for 2012 and keep that 1 second PR string going!
an amazing likeness
I was running in a half a few weeks ago, and just sort of loosely trailing the 7:30 pacer...not really part of the group with him, lagging about 10 yards back and not paying all that much attention. Then we went around a corner about 2 miles in, and he up and chucked the little pace sign aside on the curb and took off. Sure made me wonder the hell happened?

Gotcha, TeaOlive. It'll be nice to get your race report on that double you're going to run on the 1st. I will probably be running a 'double' race on the 23rd. Run the 10K at 7:45AM and then the 5K starts at 9:30AM. Results are based on your combined time. It'll be interesting.
We ran it last year. It was interesting. I think that I had 20 min after the 5k before the 10k.
The only problem was the start of the 5k = walkers and slow stroller pushers. But they
say that they have straitened that out for this year. We will see.
DB 12/15-16 Desert Solstice 24 Hour - 1) Beat WG by at least 20 miles (Think Tonya Harding) - 2) Stay on track the whole 24 hours 3) Do not finish last.

As you can see it is a distinct possibility - No easy targets on the list. Bad race could equal dead last ... or in 18th place.
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
Mike, that's an impressive list of competitors on the start list - good luck with that bunch! Read your Monkey report - sorry to read you had such a rough time. 3:13? While having a bad race at the Monkey? Sheesh, I'd be happy to break 4 on that course while having a great race. Good luck in Phoenix.

Thanks - It was actually @ 4 minutes better than last year, but 8 minutes slower than my expectations
OK, you're all signed up ileneforward. You're ending the year with quite the racing bang. Have fun.
Actually...that's a pretty standard month for her, if not a little light on the longer stuff.

12/1 Tecumseh Trail Marathon. I really have no idea right now where I am with this. I was having a reasonable few weeks on the C2HFTM program, but bronchitis is getting in the way right at crunch time. Right now I couldn't run across the house, and a couple nights ago all it took to start an asthma attack was having my wife put her arm on top of my chest while we were in bed. This is my 4th time running this race, with my first year being my fastest time at 4:59:01. So, because I'm not really in shape and I'm sick as fuck, I'm gonna shoot for 4:58.
