Hammer the first, then sneak your tag onto the fastest runner before the second.
This fails miserably if (s)he follows the same strategy, however.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
Fresh off my epic fail I have regrouped and will run a 5k in town on 12/22. At least I should be able to complete the distance.
Last one was 20:30 so lets say sub 20.
MTA:
Yeah so that didn't work out so well. 21:16. FAIL#2
We had some major ice on the course. Couple of people in front of me wiped out. Last mile was not one for good footing. Ran it hard though. Another one next week. Perhaps the footing will be better.

You're quite mad, you know.

Fuel & hydration went okay I think.
The 100k - fail. 8 laps of 6.2 miles each for 50 miles. 12:48:28.
I basically walked the last lap -- Ache and tiredness in the legs combined with darkness
on the trail.
Running tired or in the dark is one thing. Tired and on a dark trail is
something else. At least for me this time. So I wussed out.
Wriggly I am in total Awe!!!

Nice running Wrigleygirl, Trent and TeaOlive. I'm awe of you all. Congratulations.
