    WDW could be warm

I got my bib number #155. I think the bibs are ordered by corral seed time. That means I'll have a bunch of folks who've run faster to chase after but I now need to beat my bib.

I like that game at Boston. So far I'm 2 for 3 having not bothered trying in 2012 when it was hot as hell.

I'm DNS on the 5k. It was a bad idea to begin with.

Weather is always a crapshoot (I ran Boston in 2012) but Corral A at WDW is kinda normal. The race is flat and it won't be crowded for me.

True dat. I ran it one year and it was 28 at the start and 36 at the finish. Biggest problem that year was icy roads at water stations.

It is clear to me that running is, on an essential level, something different to me than it is to people who do well at those types of races. It's something I respect and fear, and also something that I have absolutely no interest in doing to myself. I've nearly been dumb enough to get myself into some survival situations in the wilderness. While not running, I think the mindset that results in the semi-accidental situations that ultra runners of that stripe find themselves in, and people who are drawn to getting themselves in difficult places in remote areas, are similar. Still, for some reason I challenge myself with one, while the other is unimaginable. Some people just have to be able to peer into the void once in a while. I suppose if I'm comfortable with one view of the voidand another terrifies me, what I'm fearing is that I haven't seen the void at all. Here's to May.

                Here we go.

Indy Winter XC 5k Indianapolis 1/25. Goal - point for the team.

Really can't put down a goal. We could have a foot of snow on the ground. Running with a local masters club team and Patrick is running too. We both get to race in our nice new shinny spikes (I hope)

Is this an open meet or what?  Send me details.  I might want to show up and cause trouble.  Fat as I am.

You can start up front and get in the way of the fast runners.

Here you go. Prices increase this weekend. $33 plus a hoodie is a decent deal. With the current snow, this should be a blast.

Let me know if you're joining us. Patrick would enjoy plus register attached to Igloi team (both of you).

I'm in for a quick one this week!  It's only been 19.5 yrs since I've raced a mile on a track.  Yes, I had to do the math twice.  Damn, that seems so long ago.

                          1/10 - Lewis Open, 1 mile (indoor) - <4:55.

I trashed my left calf on a run this weekend, so I need to get it healed up by Friday.  This could be ugly.

Surprised myself with a 16:36 and a win this morning, took the lead about 2k in and pulled away from 3k to win fairly comfortably.
