liver transplant recipient marathon runner - my story (Read 256 times)

Cause I CAN

Hi I searched and found this...here goes I had a liver transplant 17 years ago at the age of 13 at Emory. I ran the Marine Corps Marathon last year, it was my first marathon. I am wanting to run this marathon because the course goes through the same path I take when I visit Emory for check-ups, and It goes past the Emory campus. I also have a bet with another transplant friend, he tells me if I run a 5:30, he'll shave his head. My last time was 6:06 Evil grin

okay Peach - well done. Congrats on Marine Corp. I know you'll be training hard to see your friend bald as a babies...well, bottom. Make sure he shaves it close when you make it in under 5:30. I'm looking to run this one (ING Atlanta) as well. No goals as of yet...I have to get past one coming up on Oct 25. Have you signed up yet?

Congrats on Marine Corps. Mizuno sponsors a pace group for the ING Georgia Marathon. They have pacers from 3:10 to 7 hours. There is a 5:30 and 6 hour pace group.
