Return To Racing
The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here.
Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."
It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)
Happy Friday Peeps. Off today as usual. Stormy today, so hoping it clears up for more runwalking later.
Have a great weekend !!!

Morning Jerry!
This day already feels more "normal" than yesterday. Everything just seemed a bit off. Well, I need to get out the door and get some miles in. I'll catch you all in a little bit.

Beer day is happy day.
2M recovery today. Calf is no longer sore but I could feel it when I run my knuckle thru it.

From the Internet.
Mmm beer day! That's a holiday I can celebrate Water running in a bit. Calf feels OK after yesterday's run, was a little stiff by the end of the day yesterday. I've been sleeping in my compression sleeves and it seems to be doing some good (or it's just the placebo effect - either way, I'm not complaining!)
Heading home for lunch to start cleaning up my embarrassingly messy apartment - my stove is not lighting unless a burner is on so I think the ignitor's broken, my landlady is sending someone over to check it out tomorrow morning and I would like for them not to judge me on the tumbleweeds of cat and dog hair and the pile of dishes in the sink!
4 miles yesterday. Beer is good!
Too bad we can't all grab a beer.
Hi everyone, I'm back!
Vacation was great. Trying to catch up on all the work that piled up -- not so great.
Even though I was vacationing, I kept up with my training last week. This week, not so much. We did a hike on Sunday, that was of moderate distance / climb (8 miles RT, 1400 ft elevation gain). Between recovering from that and the red-eye flight home, I've missed a couple of runs and cut another short. I hope to get back on track this weekend.
It's also National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.
Welcome back Margo? Glad you had a great vacation.
No love for malt liquor?? Straw beritas?
I rather see a hot guy washing dishes or pushing a vacuum. Way sexier to me.
I did 3.2miles early this morning. No sunrise on my early run because it was crazy foggy.
HeLLO FRIDAY

Hi Pens.
The smoke is clearing to the north so today we are headed to Mono Lake where it is crystal clear. It is flat there so the run should be easier. Posting on a phone is a pain!
PF: welcome home!
Traci: what brand calf sleeves did you get?
Also, I will have no problem honoring Beer Day!
National phone posting day!
