That's a big ass crowd Jack, I didn't know you were an A-lister in the music scene.

Lol, I wouldn't say that, but we have a lot of fun with it. I will try to get a few pictures but it's hard to do when playing drums. Wink

    LRB

11 miles on the treadmill with 2 10-12 minute tempo-ish interval type things in the second half. Riddle me this, why am I so much slower on the treadmill than outside?

I have the same thoughts sometimes. It's probably a perception thing where you have to start off much slower than normal then work your way up to where you usually are.

At least that's what I learned that works for me.

Run to live; live to run

6 was plenty LRB. The wind was what would have gotten me the most. No way to do intervals in that.  Were you a frostickle when you were done?

I am 30-45 seconds per mile slower on my TM. It's not perception in mine. If I run the paces I run outside, my HR shoots out and my effort is harder. At the office TM, I am faster than outside. They are both calibrated (allegedly) so I guess it depends on the TM.

Oh that's possible. Maybe next time I'll start off a couple notches slower for the first few minutes before putting it where I usually start and see if that gets rid of the "why is this so hard at such a slow pace??" feeling.

My migraine is just going down. And I just remember I need to go to Publix before dinner for grocery shopping. Ugh.  On a day like this it's going to give me more migraine after that.

I'm kind of wondering also if it's the fact that there's no airflow and that I only use it in the winter when I'm already cold-adapted - wonder if I'd be closer to my normal paces in the dead of summer when it's cooler in the gym than outside?

LRB - It has been one thing after another this winter. Since November 11th I've ran about 10 miles. I keep thinking that I am about ready to get started again.

                  Personal Bests:

                  800M - 2:38 (5/28/13) | 1 Mile -5:54 (5/28/13) | 3K - 11:55 (12/29/12) | 2M - 13:00 (12/1/12) | 5K - 20:00 (4/12/13) | 13.1M - 1:37:24 (2/3/13)

I have a huge fan that sounds like airplane. It has not improved the paces. Some TMs are like that.  I don't have a fan at the office and I have no problem.

Good stuff there. When does marathon training start?

7 miles with 8x100 unenthusiastic strides for me.  I have a big drum gig tonight, some Valentine's Dance for 450-500 people, and an 18 miler tomorrow morning.

Marathon training doesn't start for another 5 months or so. Marathon is at the end of September. I will race a 5k May 2nd, so maybe that counts Smile

A gig in front of 500 people!!! Wow! How cool is that!

18 tomorrow... when is your next marathon again? Don't drink too much tonight. We all know drummers...

I say you pull a Keith Moon & completely smash up your drum kit at the end.

5.5 outside. Cold front has yet to come through, so it was tolerable. Running after lunch at an Indian buffet is not the best idea.

Lauren, my pace on the treadmill is laughably slow. Like 2+ min/mile slower than outside. I just go by time and effort and try to ignore the pace read out.
