Ritz is fading. He's turning 5:07, 5:09 - slower than the women's leaders.
Short term goal: 17:59 5K
Mid term goal: 2:54:59 marathon
Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life. (I started running at age 45).
Men's lead group is down to four - Mutai, Kimetto, Kitwara, Kogo
Kimetto averaged 150 miles per week this cycle!
KImetto with a new CR. 2:03:45.
Kimetto with a new CR. 2:03:45.
A 4:43 average pace.
That was fun to watch.
And over in the blink of an eye!
And Jeptoo just under 2:20!
Very cool thanks for the link.
He came in at 2:09:47 5th overall. He said he faded the last four or five miles due to hamstring issues. I believe it still is a PR for him though.
+1
some amazing stuff...

The Russian woman looks like a giant out there.

Caretaker/Overlook Hotel
Pfft........I forgot & slept thru the whole thing!!
Must have recap.
4:43 average pace. These guys are getting faster & faster. I don't know about sub-2, but I'm expecting to see a 2:02 in the very near future!!
Glad Ritz got under 2:10 but I feel for the guy. I don't know if any American works harder, yet I think he's just at his physical limit. Not knocking his performance, I just wish his efforts returned more & he could run with the lead pack & get his face out there.

More important than the elites: anyone stalking any forumites?
Was checking on Damaris, but her last split on the website was at the 15k mark. Oh nevermind, I found her comment in the dailies. I never go in there lol.
Redrum, I wonder why Ritz hasn't focused more on the track a/l/a Galen Rupp. I think Ritz is a great runner but I'm not sure he has ever had the durability you need to really be a top marathon contender.
