Because you have not built up enough trust in your refurbished hip yet and if you are like any of us, you are probably expecting it to break again if you do and break your spirit in the process.

I see LRB took my idea of saying: at the asthma doctor; entertain me.

Hubby sees the prostate specialist this afternoon. Hoping we get some more good news.

Hmmm.  Yep, that's probably pretty much it.   Spot on, as usual, sir!

I had it bad with my SI joint thinking it would shatter at a moments notice (and some days just wished it would to get it over with) but my therapist at the time () assured me that I would return to my pre-injury self and she was right.

I actually think it's my other hip (that's been bothering me lately) that has me most concerned.    So, yeah.

                    Barking Mad To Run

Good morning.  I'm going to hit the garden and front yard with the hoe and do some weeding while the ground is still soft from the recent rain.  Next 10 days are forecast to be dry and warm, so its back to drought we go.

My hope today is to drive out to the park this afternoon to get me run it, but I'll see how the days goes.  The convenience of having a TM steps aways, as opposed to driving 15 minutes to someplace runnable outside, wins the argument more often than not.

I'm the exact opposite, lol.  If I see a trail or road or some area that looks interesting to me, one that I've never run on before, I will drive to it - even if it takes 2 hours, lol - just to run go explore it and run 3 or 4 miles on it.

Oski - Maybe it's a good thing to not want to race just yet.  When your full confidence returns, so should your competitive drive.  Or something.

onemile - It will be interesting to see how you do on not-not-training.  Hopefully it will be successful.

I took advantage of today's mild(er) temperatures to split and bring in a lot of wood in preparation for the next big chill.  I also reattached the mailbox *again* and implemented another temporary hillbilly solution that looks promising.  A wooden pallet is staked into the ground just ahead of the box on the oncoming traffic side, so that it bears the brunt of the snow wave coming off the plow and protects the box.

I didn't know we helped with that.  We have ways!

My shot left me exhausted, so I napped.  Now off to Pilates.

                          From the Internet.

I'm ready for a nap. PT this morning, 8 miles on the treadmill with 3x1 mile (6.6, 6.7, 6.8 mph) with 0.5 miles recovery, and 2 minutes at 7.6 mph. First good workout in a long time, not as fast as I would have liked but that'll come back eventually.

I kind of did this last spring.  I ran a marathon on a whim off of half marathon training.  I had only run 16 miles three times, nothing further (in the past 6 months).  I ended up running a 3:32.  For this one I will probably run 18 at least once.  But the course is also harder.  I'd be happy to run a 3:32 again. We'll see I guess.
