Slow, hot and humid SaturDAILIES (Read 55 times)

Rondog65

Hoping everyone is having a good weekend, got my afternoon run in at a quick pace covering 6.6 miles.

    Ron's PRs 5K 24:14 (12/07/2013); Half Marathon 1:53:33 (5/26/2013)

    Zelanie

Howdy, dailies!  I finally figured out I could get cardio done on the elliptical.  Don't ask me why it took me a month to realize that, but it felt good to sweat again.  60 minutes done.

      LRB

My attendance here has been spotty as of late, so my apologies about that.

        Don't sweat it, you're good.

2.80 miles with hubby and weights. First time I've done shoulder presses at 17.5 lbs on each hand.  Woot.

          flarunner, glad you're OK!

Gotta go hydrate with a nice beer.

            Hi dailies:

FLA - glad you're ok, those close encounters with cars are really upsetting

            Hog - enjoy the LR

Marjorie - good that the dog's better

            Oski - enjoy the rest

Baboon - “Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?”

Sparker - good luck with the yard

Race Car - holy heck that's some fast paced stuff.  Nice job.

Scap - good recovery run to you

            AmiK - woohoo!

D - eh, that sucks.  At least you made the most of it.

            Q - that is swampy

April - no worries, you'll do fine on that 15.

DaveP - cool.  I wish I'd see more people who were clearly training.

            Ric-G - have a good day

B+ - were there pancakes at the end?

Brr - congrats, a minute off your HM PR is still a good race.

Lilac - great job, keep it up.  (The race and the smoke-free)

Jack - Mexican beer, Germans, it's an international incident.

            Tom - have fun

            Robert - good job

            OOTB - picking stuff already?

            Ron - nice run

            Zelanie - nice 60

13.1 at GMP.  Attempting two in a row would be ugly right now, gotta remedy that over the summer.

What up Dailies. Haven't posted in awhile. My training went to shit this week but overall has been going pretty well this year. Hope you are all doing good, I've missed keeping up with everybody.

Since I tanked my miles this week due to life's commitments, I decided at the last minute to do a 5K today.  I went up to Flint to run the Healing Hands 5K. Small race but they put it on well since it was the 18th running.

I ran a 23:20 which was good for a 1:38 PR. 18/128 overall. 3/7 AG.  There was some real racing in this event for me, which I'd have to say is the first race I've actually felt direct competition. There were other examples, but as just one...A guy I was battling with for more 2 miles congratulated me for out kicking him at the end and thanked me for pushing him. We chatted a bit about the race and that was the coolest part for me. I scored a door prize in the free raffle too, which doesn't hurt. (gift card to the movies)

              Splits:

              1: 7:47

              2: 7:33

              3: 7:32

              Last .1: 5:43/mile

That's according to Garmin. That last bit seems a little suspect LOL
