Former Bad Ass
So I ran my first 60-mile week last week. Beats my previous best from last spring by 10 miles. Although I don't recommend anybody do it the way I did it- goal HM, then a week off, then just right in to the high mileage. I was so stiff from the time off that I could barely run at all! Luckily that went away after a few days. Step- Hope you get some answers about the ribs soon! LRB- Nice run! Good of the traffic to cooperate.

My body warms up extremely fast, and I do much better in the cold.... it is the ice and snow that kicks my butt.
I have mad respect for all you cold-weather runners. It's 24 degrees out and I'm headed straight to the TM for my miles today.

Hiya, Dailies...
Thanks for reading my RR. It was fun telling the story. Most of my soreness is gone but the legs are a still a bit stiff so no running yet. A walk with the dog might be in order, though it will be a slooooow walk. I might get out later this week for a short easy run, but I'm thinking this could be a time to take a week or two off. Thanks again for all the help and support over the last few months.
I think I found the specialist to do my surgery. First doctor I called that looked great on paper runs a fibroid center at the best hospital in Miami. I am going to meet him soon And hoping for a quick surgery date.
LRB in the waiting room now!
That was funny! Hi!
Enjoy the run later Scotty!
Smart move MarJ!
Good luck Shari. I hope nothing is broken!
Nice to see you active again Sarah!
That is an impressive run Drew!
Congrats on the milestone Zel!

Barking Mad To Run
Hope you made your plane, Marjorie!
Glad your run today was better, FreeSoul. Rocky didn't get upset that you left without him?
Holidays is a good time to take some time off, Jack. Not many races or running events going on toward the end of the year. Congrats on your marathon!
Way to go on the 60 mile week, Zelanie! You just did my monthly mileage in one week, lol.
Hope the kitty is feeling better, Damaris! And hope the doc you are meeting will be a match for you.

Me, to doctor: "I think it's my peroneal tendon but I'll let you tell me." Doctor: "I have no idea, I don't know anything about feet." Glad I switched doctors from the evil runner hating one. This one likes runners and even runs herself but knows nothing about feet. Super.

What, did she fall asleep in that part of anatomy class? Zel - so what did your 60 mile week look like? Are you running every day?
Kristin, you should have gone to a podiatrist, hello! Good luck with the next one.
It's never too early or too late for cookies, Baboon! Cookies are a 24-7 type of food!
Hope your doctor's appointment went well, Step, so you can start getting back to 100%.
Sarah, that snow-shoveling is hard work! Definitely x-training! Did my share when I lived in Ohio. I don't miss it at all! Shoveling AND spinning...you sure got your exercise in!
Sorry about the foot, Kristin. Maybe time to go to the doc, one that knows about feet. The other doc sounds like she's been defeeted...
Dang, LRB...that is some dang cold weather to run in! I bet you can't get warm today, all that cold you were out in is probably still stuck in your bones! I get cold around here when it gets below 50! I can't imagine running in -4!
Did you do that tempo run outside, Andrew, in that horrendously cold weather you have? If so, surprised you had any pulse at all...that it didn't 'freeze in place" while you were out there!
Outoftheblue, 24 is pretty darn cold! Even so...I still just could not do the treadmill, I have to run outside. Hence my 29-degree race last Saturday morning, lol. It's probably a good thing I don't live in Alaska or somewhere the temp goes down below zero...I'd probably have to run 'teeny' laps inside my house....6 hours to the mile.... . Just...cannot...do....the...treadmill!
He is kind of giving the silent treatment lol.

There was a podiatrist in the same building, and cuz there was a lot of cancellations due to the snow he could squeeze me in. Verdict is NOT good. He said there is a chance it is a peroneal tendon issue....pain is in the right place, but I passed all the tendon tests. It doesn't hurt when he did X Y and Z to my foot only when I put weight on it. He thinks it is a stress fractured cuboid bone I'm in a soft cast and walking boot. No work for 3 days. No physical activity for....????? Ugh I am SO SAD.

I started a blog about running :) Check it out if you care to
Uffda
No way Scotty. If you go too fast outdoors you could find your ass on the ground in a hurry. Running on the snow/ice is half about not falling. I was on a TM - the thing I'll be on for the majority of my runs this winter. The temp this morning was no joke either, it was still -10. Colder than I thought it would have been.

Ugh. Sorry to hear these news.
Oh no!
running is bad for you
NO MRI??
