So its apparent at this point that I'm not going to race tomorrow.
Damn.
Happy to be here.
You're telling me. I'm so fucking pissed at my body right now.

Hip Redux
I set out to do an hour on the spin bike but my butt could only handle 50 minutes. Way too much soreness in the ol' gluteal area and I couldn't go 10 more minutes. At least my knee felt good!
Told ya!
Work up those butt callouses!
It's only been 3 days.
I'm stressed and overwhelmed already.
Pray for me.

Matt, maybe one more night of good rest might make enough of a difference by morning.

So its apparent at this point that I'm not going to race tomorrow. My chest congestion has worsened and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that if I step to that line, I'd be wrong to do so. This is an extremely difficult thing to digest right now. My races are what I train for. If it's any use to anybody, don't mess with the grey areas when it comes to colds and flus. I messed around inside of them and I'm paying the price. I'm definitely not young anymore.
Totally sucks. You cannot mess around with your lungs, you'll need those.
You probably don't want to hear "there will be other races", but there will be plenty.
Dave
You know what helps reduce stress - going for a run!
Hang in there.

Matt, I'm sorry.
Beth, hugs.
You know what helps reduce stress - going for a run! Hang in there.
Thanks! Wish I could have today. Hubby worked 8-9, no one to give a relief break.
By the time he got home I was exhausted. That's OK. I hadn't had a break from run/swim
in over 2 weeks.
I'm sure I will survive the next few months. But after the last 3 days I know it's not going
to be easy.
Hang in there, Beth! You're all still adjusting - it will get better!
But The Smile That I Sent Out Returned With You.

Very sorry to hear that mattchiro.

Thanks, everyone. Yeah I know there are other races...its ok! I've already frantically searched for other races and am mentally readjusting my training cycle as we speak.
Everyone: Kick ass tomorrow!
Matt- So sorry to hear you're not able to run. Kudos to you for making the smart choice though!
At my packet pickup tonight there was a little kid, maybe 7 or so, handing out the goody bags. He had some advice for the race. He said that the 5K was not very long but that the 10 mile made him throw up. But I was welcome to choose either one I wanted. I guess I've been warned.
Got my 4 miles easy tonight. And the chance of rain for tomorrow AM is down to 30%!
