A compelling reason for distance runners to climb the pace ladder (Read 107 times)

LRB

One of the changes in Daniels third edition is there is a range for easy pace not a singular time.  So your easy pace is now listed as 8:26-7:28.

It makes all the sense in the world because there are days when you are running easy yet going much faster than the old listed pace.

Good info and discussion, this is something I need to work on, learning the reasons/goals for different workouts.

But yes with my current marathon plan I have been very cogniscent of the 'why' of each run.  It is far too easy to injure yourself by running 'easy' too fast coupled with the volume and intensity of the plan.

As my coach continues to remind me; the closer to your maximum potential the higher the risks.
