I believe that active duty military get first crack at the bibs, then the 17.75k finishes, and then the lottery. I got in through the lottery.
Cool, that's what I thought. Apparently the 17.75k sells out really quick. I'll try for that first, since I'm close enough I can easily drive up and run it. Then if I can't get into that, I'll try the lottery.

I think they both happen around the same time so get into the lottery nonetheless. If you get entry through the 17.75K, they usually reimburse or fix it somehow.

Good to know, thanks!

D2 you can always sell the lottery entry. They do provide a transfer service.
I agree, go ahead and enter both.
It is a very pretty course, but I have to admit I am looking at my garmin map and paces to try and recall exactly what wa going on at each point in the race.
It is all still quite fuzzy right now.

Especially if something happens and you decide not to run the 17.75K (because you need a confirmed finish time there to be able to enter MCM), then you'll have the MCM entry.
Is there any particular significance to 17.75k?
1775 is the year the Marine Corps was created.
Oh, I thought 17.75k was a distance.
Canada isn't even that old!
