The earthquake was felt in CT, apparently by everybody except me. The building I work in was designed to withstand bombings, so that might explain why I didn't feel it.

Well the park has re-opened. Evidently, the dog being walked was on the small side and coyotes don't identify leashes as something attaching a possible prey item to the larger, nearby human. For NJ residents a 4.8 earthquake is a once in a lifetime event, statistically speaking, so I'm probably never going to experience that again. I ran an easy 3 miles and guess I'm ready for tomorrow's half, 15mph winds notwithstanding.

There's some good news!
Shit's getting real!

Aftershock during dinner. 4.4 initial reading, though much shorter in duration than earlier. I stood too suddenly for the amount of wine I'd had on a Friday night.
Gah! This reminds me of the 20-50 earthquakes that PR had daily just before the pandemic. At some point, it becomes too stressful because you are kind of worried and wondering if it will happen again and how many, and how bad! Hoping they stop soon!
Yeah, I don't need them triggering my older son's anxiety issues. So far he's OK, fingers crossed.
Crossing fingers.
Just under 8 miles after work. A little bit of rain and lots of wind.
Glad to hear you're alright, Fred. My typical earthquake experience is i wake up randomly in the middle of the night then see on the news in the morning that there was one at that time. I think there have only been two that I've felt during the day.
We've had a few "sonic booms" where doors in the house will slam shut that have been more frightening (military never confirms they're behind those...).
Watching several baseball games and it appears most of the US has very cold weather right now. I thought the groundhog didn't see his shadow?!
Exciting!!
sdWhiskers, Aberdeen Proving Ground has "boom alerts" on FB that also get shared on local sites. It's usually pretty obvious when they are blowing shit up. They also peridically issue alerts is they are burning stuff. We didn't know until during the pandemic that we could see part of their area--DH went to start lunch and there was a giant fire on the horizon.
