It's Friday Penguins, noshing on brownies!! (Read 7 times)

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

It seems it's National Brownie Day, who knew?  I don't really make brownies often, I'm more of a cookie girl.  And this weekend starts the Great Christmas Baking Plan, so that's all good.  This weekend will involve chocolate fudge, egg nog fudge (if DH doesn't drink all the egg nog before the weekend), and graham cracker toffee.  Hoping there's enough room in the freezer!  Woo-hoo!!

Morning!  I have Pilates and weights tonight.

I don't like brownies so take all of mine, HopesMom!  Woohoo!

I love brownies -- anything baked actually - but never make them. DH is diabetic and eats too much sugar as it is and I'm usually trying to watch my weight, so making a pan of anything is out. I get cake or pie one piece at a time. We have neighbors that will occasionally give us Christmas cookies. I think they feel sorry for the old folks who have no kids around to make it worth baking. I try to stretch them out since I am quite capable of sitting down and eating the whole plate at once. Fortunately Jim and I can both eat just one or two at a time.

Rest day here. My legs are feeling tired and achy - for no good reason - so I'd rather rest now than push it. MRT starts next week and I don't want to go into that with problems.
