Actually, I've never had one either, not being into stout. But according to DH, it's pretty much a root beer float, except you use stout instead of root beer!
I suspect, for some, it has to do with where you live, and what you think "pizza" is. Pizza my clear winner. I never stood in a two hour line to get in to eat ice cream.
