Just curious since quite a few of us have Garmins, if anybody uploads and uses GC as their primary training log.

Or is there some place better to upload stuff too? Where are you guys all at usually?

My SN on GC is the same as it is on here, incase anybody wants to connect on GCSmile

    Mostly Harmless

I use Garmin Connect, also with the same username as here.  I've also been uploading my Garmin data to the training logs here for the past few weeks and I like it a lot.  You can upload directly from  your Garmin and it has some nice features.

PS - You can view my training log that is hosted here by clicking on the little bar graph icon above my avatar.

I use Garmin connect to upload all my data, but then I manually transfer it here.  I know that's silly, but I like feeling like I'm moving the data, just like I would if I were writing it down.  I move it over to here because I like being able to track mileage on shoes, and I also really like seeing the different graph views.  Also, I can "share" my training log without everyone seeing my routes.  I believe my routes are all visible on Garmin.

I also write all my mileage and shoes down in my calendar, so I probably should be reported to the Redundancy Department of Redundancy.

        PRs:  Marathon (2:56xx; '13)  Half (1:25xx; '12) 10k (40:26; '11) 5mi (29:23; '13) 5k (18:31; '11)

I use GarminConnect.  I typically upload from my Garmin at both places immediately after a run.

I like the ability to compare runs so I also use garmin connect...like sharz I upload to here and gc.

Are you doing this for world peace? For the homeless? Are you running for women's rights? The environment?

They couldn't believe somebody would do all that running for no reason.

I upload to garmin connect, here and I convert my runs over to nike+ because I have friends there and I enjoy getting my points/achievements. Unfortunetly the converter is currently broken due to the update nike did to their site, should be working again though by Monday.

My stuff get uploaded to garminconnect and then I transfer it to here and I also use sportstracks.   I gave up writing it down in the calendar too.  I must be lazy!

                not lazy, just tired

I have mine on Garmin Connect and here. I'm stupidlazydog there, too.

                  Not if it makes sense.

I initially upload to Garmin Connect because it does so wirelessly, but I then transfer it all to my log here.  I would use GC alone but there is no shoe log and I like to keep track of how many miles my shoes have on them without having to think about it.

I upload to GC and then I upload to RA immediately after (I think RA pulls the data from GC).  I am using RA as my main log. I would never use GC's log as my only one. GC is nowhere near as nice as RA's log (which is far superior in its ability to categorize/sort runs, track shoes, interpret data).  After the data is imported to RA, the RA log includes all of the splits from my Garmin - which is AWESOME.

A shoe log?! That is awesome! I won't have to remember to write on my boxes anymore!

Thanks for the input, I'll need to check out the RA log!

I need to start logging here. Maybe that will be my new years resolution.

All I have to do is go to my log and click on UPLOAD GPS DATA and it pulls the info automatically from Garmin Connect (I have the 405 watch, if that matters).  It gives you a chance to categorize your run, mark what kind of shoes you wore or whatever else you want to do and then you save it.  It literally takes 2 seconds!!!

Ok, easy enough...so what do you do for treadmill miles (not that I have a lot of them), just estimate with a TE?
