The problem with the number system for posts is I can't tell whether the most recent post is today's or a reply to a prior day's daily.

We could put both day and number, as an alternative.
Since I'm off work, I'll try my Wednesday 3 so that on all hands day I don't have to rush work to run.

Workday rest day… knock on wood run tomorrow off work day

Rest day. The number system tends to get more difficult to follow after January.
Personal Bests:
800M - 2:38 (5/28/13) | 1 Mile -5:54 (5/28/13) | 3K - 11:55 (12/29/12) | 2M - 13:00 (12/1/12) | 5K - 20:00 (4/12/13) | 13.1M - 1:37:24 (2/3/13)
Finally got my younger son out of the house by a) suggesting I wouldn't be paying to register him for 5k races if he wasn't running, and b) offering to put on my faster shoes and run a bit faster than easy if he wanted to come with me. So, we did 1½ miles together, then he turned off and headed home to get 2½ total while I continued on for 5¼ total miles.
I don't think I've ever gotten Presidents Day off since leaving school.
So this morning, I put on my Noxgear but couldn't find my lamp. It wasn't in its usual spot. Last I used it, I brought it to my Saturday AM meetup. I would've put it back in the bag I brought to that, which I had put back in my closet. I dug through that, not there. The bag had gotten knocked over in the trunk of my car at one point, so I thought maybe somewhere in there - hunted around the trunk, but nope. Maybe I dropped it somewhere outside and it's gone? I went out on my run without it, being annoyed thinking about having to buy a new one. Some of you may already see where this story is going. I realized about 1/2 mile into my run where it probably was: plugged into the charger. Sure enough when I got home, there it was.
8 miles with 10 strides.

7 miles. Never have Presidents Day off but took it off today. Didn't start my run until 9am! Little sprinkly ahead of our third 'atmospheric river' storm in a month. I still have blisters on my foot from the last one (from wet shoes).
Are we there, yet?
I remember when there were two holidays, Lincoln's Birthday on Feb 12th, and Washington's Birthday on Feb 22nd.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Yep! But for both of us growing up in Illinois, Lincoln's b-day was a bigger deal than in most other states.
We had President's Day as a holiday until maybe 10 years ago when it went away because the other area hospitals did not observe it. As a school program, it is a required day off for Maryland schools, so no kids around and only a few year round staff who don't get the day off. If this sounds a bit confusing, ultimately I work for a hospital, but we have school programs as a department.
As do I.
I remember when Veteran's Day was a holiday. And Columbus Day. And Election Day. And sometimes even Good Friday (so we could get a day off between mid-February and the end of May).
I remember too and in PR we had both even after most were combined as President's Day. Puerto Ricans like all the holidays (state and US).
