Why am I racing a 5K in June? I melted at this race last year. Going with a bunch of club members though, coaches are usually there too and we have a tent, so it should be fun with the exception of the extreme desire to puke at the end :P

This race is small but is an RRCA championship race and attracts a fast field. I'm looking forward to seeing how I do against stiff competition.

I'll also be at the Queens 10K. And I'll still be in the 25-29 age group....now that both bluerun AND sapf will be in the 30-35 age group I can really dominate all the races until I join their age group in October :-P

I was implying that it was helpful to me to not have to compete against your speediness anymore....at least for another 4 months

Nothing at the moment but that may change. As for running a lot of races within a short period of time, I think I once ran 26 races in 60 days, but most of them were 800m, mile, 3000m, and 5000m, so short.

Why am I racing a 5K in June? I melted at this race last year.
I had a race that started at 9:00 which by then the sun was in high beam mode so the last 1.5 mile or so sucked. I have had others though where it wasn't so bad so it just depends on that particular day.
I normally run 3 for a warmup but in warm weather I would cut that down to around 2 and add a couple more brief accelerations, which are not to be confused with their faster cousin strides.
