Been a long week, but the end is in sight. Cooler this morning and I got in a nice, easy 6 miles with some hills. I get to meet my new, remote boss today. The best news is my mother got to go home from the hospital yesterday, where she'd been since Monday night.

In the office today and feeling better after feeling like crap all day with the stomach issues. AND I SLEPT (not the whole night but more than I have had in a week). Now if only my back would get better, TYVM.
I have 4 after work.

My Garmin gave me a sleep score of 84 last night, which I think is a PR. It didn't feel like any sort of special night of sleep. I don't really trust that thing because I can feel like I slept great and Garmin will score it a 50, then I'll feel like I slept like crap and Garmin will score it a 75 (higher is better). Either way, it's just a fun data point to look at.
I swam 2600 yards this morning and will hop on the office treadmill later. The new season of the English Premier League starts today with a 3:00 game, so I'll probably time the treadmill run so I can have the game on while I run.

99 and humid at 9:30 last night. I decided to break from the plan and run what my body felt like it could do.
Personal Bests:
800M - 2:38 (5/28/13) | 1 Mile -5:54 (5/28/13) | 3K - 11:55 (12/29/12) | 2M - 13:00 (12/1/12) | 5K - 20:00 (4/12/13) | 13.1M - 1:37:24 (2/3/13)
BTDT, not good. And no benefit from running in extreme heat.
6 with 2x600 + 3x400 + 4x200.
Fred, glad your mom is home.
6…. Half bumps and small hills, and half rr grade. Two down and backs, the fist easy the second elevated pace… both paces a little better than last Friday

Take Your Child To Work day at my work. Kid is super excited to do a bunch of science experiments.
That is why I am "pausing" the C25K right now. I will pick it back up when things cool down here. Next three days are forecasted at 106 each day. Monday we get a "break" with a 102 degree forecast. Our August has been oppressive so far. The highs have been between 103 and 107 every day of the month. We've had 18 straight days of 100+ degree weather and 9 of the next 10 days are supposed to be 100+.
And there is still September!

Awwww.
Sorry I've been MIA, super busy work stuff. Wednesday I did a workout of 11 miles with 5 x 1 miles tempo + 3x200m. It actually went really well, I was very happy. I normally do that on the nearby asphalt trail, but decided to do it at the track Just because. I think I like that better. No hills anyway. Yesterday 6 easy, this morning 9 easy. Slept like shit last night, hopefully that means a good night's sleep tonight.
Someone on my running group's FB page just bought a new watch and was offering his old Garmin 55 for free. So I claimed it, and will pick it up at a group run next weekend. I've continued to plan to use my current watch till it dies. But I'll be happy to have a backup, so I don't have to be without one when that happens. And I don't need to make the decision of which one to buy. And it's free. It's one that I was considering anyway; even though it's "entry-level," it has way more shit than my current watch and way more than I need. Any of the higher end models just get ridiculous with extraneous features. Maybe I'll decide to switch over right away, we'll see.

Great deal, Dave!
I think we finally found which muscle is injured and it's not the glute nor the lumbar area. It's the lat but the area closest to the spine. When my coworker who is a massage therapist too touched and tried to release it, my hip flexor and glute went on alert. Just finished cupping the area and can take deep breaths now so hoping it feels better from now on.
