Cherie, why do you think your knees were sore from the start? Seems odd.....

I thought so too, Mitch, and figured it was just a bit of stiffness that would go away once I loosened up.  Unfortunately, it did not.  Instead it got worse.  I've been going over my training, wondering if i did too much too late in my tapering during that 3rd week.  Or it might have been as Ginny suggested, that it's a downhill race, and that constant downhill just got to me.  I dunno.  However, they just sent me links to the photos, and I appear to be having a blast.  LOL, told y'all it was fun anyway:

Haha.  No.  I wish.  We ran in Chicago yesterday but we went for a trial run to move.

Cherie, running a 4;30 on sore knees is pretty darn awesome IMO.

kristin, I had a peroneal tendon flare up and had to stop   running for 10 weeks (had shin splints then too) so it was a "2fer" injury. Anyway, that tendon wraps under the ankle and inserts on the outer part of the foot about half way And it hurts bad at that insertion point.

Cherie, congrats despite your disappointment. I love that smile.

URD of sorts for me. I have to work late again, so I'll run my Monday run tomorrow, like last week.

Jack - I'm going to read your RR.  Saving the best for last.

                  Cherie - Great picture.

Kristin - Sorry about the pain

Damaris - So sorry about Trixie

Jerry - three long runs in a week?  You are my hero.

Zelanie - I'm determined to stop complaining about the weather.  Someone(like you today) will always have it worse than me.

I got my 4 in.  There was snow on my trail but the precipitation had stopped.  It was relatively warm.  I also got the mud cleaned out of my house.  I'm off to start a thread about my upcoming race.

Still waiting for the perfect race picture. 5K PR-33:52 , 10K PR 1:11:16, First HM 2:42:28

Scotty, it’s the monsoon season now.. More rains than usual but welcomed!

Ginny, 3 of us.. 1 is slower and the other is faster (but slower than me on the last marathon) Both younger but I am having none of that.. haa.. we just make sure we are able to chat while we jog.. It’s more of  a catch up jog..

Cherie, that race pic really showed what I thought you looks like in real life.. you look so happy.

Cherie, that pic is adorable! You look like you're having a good time, and you have nice smile. I'm curious about your knee issue, if you stumble across anything, would you mind sharing? I run some downhill stuff, but if I go too fast, I can really feel it in my knees. And I suffered severe shin splints from running downhill, this was an out of control, bout to face plant too fast. Anyways, I hope your knees start to feel better soon.

It was 37*, I did 3.25 miles with Bella and I was hot. I should have left the pants and jacket.

Damaris - moving to Chicago would be going from one extreme to the other.  Can't you find someplace a bit more moderate?

Cherie - great picture of you.  You do look like you're having fun.  I also really liked your painting that Jack included in his RR.

Stonefence - good job running in the snow.

Scott - Nice job on the races. I hope you enjoyed your day off.

Jack - Congrats on the race. Awesome time.

StoneFence - Bad weather seems to be spreading.

Traci - I hope the calf feels better.

Mitch - Glad that you are back to day shifts. I had to take advantage of the once in a lifetime opportunity to ice skate on my sidewalk in Texas.

Awood - That sounds like a fun run.

Bin - It is always nice to run with friends.

Cherie - I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Kristin - have a speedy recovery.

Damaris - I hope Trixie gets better quickly.

Melanie - You never encourage me.  Cry

Jerry - Enjoy the rest day.

Ginny - We never shovel snow here. It usually melts after one day.

Missing those three days last week due to ice has seemed to help my calf. It has been feeling weak after my runs, but not after yesterday's run. I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday to see what is next. I can tell that the blood clot is still there, but it isn't bothering me too much now. My calf tingles some, but the sharp pain is gone.

Dan- In all seriousness, I am glad that the leg is feeling better. Smile  But do consider resting it for another couple of weeks. Evil

In all serious, I couldn't put up big numbers even if I tried. I was practically limping into my calf appointment last week. I was afraid that my doctor was going to scream at me for running the 20 miles last Monday and Tuesday.
