    Yup!

    Half Crazy K 2.0

Now that I am showered and sitting, ache is starting to set in.  Pretty much my entire left side hurts. Hey, did you hear about the guy that hurt his entire left side?

      He was allllllright.

Any damage to the running clothes? Or just you?

Why wouldn't one pay for the open water dive? Or stated differently, does the chance of freaking out decrease if you just go do an open dive on your own? It seemed to me that the open water dive was the most important (or as important) aspect of the entire process. Is that not correct?

You can't do an open water dive on your own. (I mean, I guess you can, but no reputable shop will rent you gear if you don't have a cert.) The open water dive IS the dive that you want to do, but it's an additional fee on top of what you're already paying for the class and confined water portions, whereas with a Discover Scuba class, you're spending much less time and money just to dip into the ocean and see if you even like it.

This is just the sort of awful "joke" I need to foist on my brother.

Just me.  No visible damage other than a barely noticeable scrape on my knee.  No damage to my clothes, thankfully.  I was wearing a pair of my $120 thermal 2XU tights.  And yes, I paused my Garmin immediately.

Then you get certified! Like I said, I didn't even know certification existed -- I did a DSD twice before the divemaster told me that if I was going to keep doing it, I ought to just get certified. I'm not sure if I would have gone that route initially had I known it was an option, even though I was sure I'd like it.

Our health care is not free either if you put it that way. We all pay a huge percentage of our income for it. Imagine. We collectively pay for everything for everyone. Cancer, brain surgery, all the bone fractures, people who just find it abnormal to cough 3 days in a row. It is inceredibly expensive, but it is available to all.

Is it better than your situation? Maybe. Is it perfect? If it were, everyone would be doing it. I imagine the reason why you don't want it (as a country) is because it is so damn expensive for the few who actually contribute to pay for the care of everyone.

So do we! It’s a shared risk pool either way. The difference is our total outlay is higher, because not only are we paying for the actual medical care, but also to support the multi-billion dollar private insurance industry, which doesn’t even exist in your system. Not to mention the army of medical billing specialists which have to be employed by every doctor’s office and hospital here.

6 miles by 6am! Tried the Mona fartlek and liked it. Was a very efficient use of my time.

You're within 2 weeks--is it officially taper time? I think you said new coach is having you do a longer taper? (or more extreme taper?)
