I ran!  No, really.  6.2 miles at 8:03 pace.  Somewhere between an easy and a medium effort.  Felt really good.  If I didn't have a LR tomorrow, I'd have put the pedal to the floor today.

          From the Internet.

Tried to get in a water running workout and had to bail because something in the hip flexor/groin region was just not cooperating. Was planning to run tomorrow since my shin has been back to normal for the last few days, I'm hoping it's a pool-specific angry crotch muscle - I am going to be PISSED if I have to take more time off from running for an injury sustained while cross-training through a different injury >:C

Run to live; live to run

                10.3 for me.

Waiting on the neighbor to borrow his tool to turn the water off at the main so I can replace the cartridge in the shower in the master bath. It is simple and we were just going to have the plumber do it when he was here yesterday. But, he moved until to Monday because of his work and he didn't leave his last job until late yesterday (He us doing the stuff we need done on the side and very inexpensive).  We are having a whole water filter system put in. No rush but not something I can do myself.

8 miles and a haircut for me and then, finally, Spring Break!  DW and the kids already had theirs so it's one full week to myself. I can get used to that.

Say, the wifey is about 5 weeks out from her race.  There should be some tough runs on the horizon yes?

Awwww.  My daddy taught me well!  There are some things I can't do but I will try most things. Growing up in a very DIY type home, you learn.  Neighbor let me borrow the tool to turn off the water at the main. i disassembled the water handle for the shower pulled out the gross old cartridge. Manhandled the new one in place. It took a bit to get it in all the way. Reassembled. Turned the water back on at the main and took him back the tool. Very accomplished today. Maybe took 10 min to do it. Not bad.

                              Barking Mad To Run

Rest day today.  5K in Luckenbach Texas tomorrow morning, my 25th race of 2014.  Maybe Willie and Waylon will be there.   For doing one of my photo reports  on this event, the RD comped me my entry too, nice!    Yesterday I did 3.3 miles easy on nice soft trails at a local park.  However, I forgot to pack my running shirt, so I threw some business the RD's way - least I could do since he comped my entry in not only this race but a couple of upcoming ones too -  by stopping at his specialty running store on the way to the park and picking up a new running shirt.  The temp was only 63 degrees but storms were threatening and it was VERY humid, felt like running in a sauna.  The park was nice and quiet, I guess most folks stayed away cuz of the potential thunderstorms, usually this park is quite busy all the time. The back half of the run was very nice.  First half, not so good.  Lesson learned...do not eat fast food for lunch - I had Chik-Fil-A - on a day you are going to run after work. After I was about half-way finished with my run/walk, I had to stop and recycle some of that meal to Mother Nature.  I think, for a change, instead of them startling me, I startled the park deer, lol, cuz they took off into the brush when I began my recycling process.  Felt much better after that and had a nice back half of the outing and a good strong finish.
