Wickedly Average
Evening, Dailies, and happy September!
475.6 miles for me today. Driving, that is.
Made it down to Jacksonville for Mom's birthday dinner. Big crowd, great dinner, family, friends.
I'm planning on a few miles in the morning before the Florida heat gets too high.

Amateurs! You are behind on your wine and drinks....
Shit, I passed out. lol
Wow LRB - those are some impressively even splits!
15 miles complete in 2:08:32. I ran with a GU for the first time on a long run and had my first shot at mile 7.5, then another squig at mile 11.5. I did not finish it but found that having it in my hand oddly gave me something to think about other than the run. The point of trying it is not for energy during the run, but to see how my body responds to it. That said, it seems to agree with me, but I found today that the pin I used to attach it to my shorts, is way to small to be dickin' around with during my marathon. I am thinking I may carry three during the event, but we will see... The skies opened up the last mile, and my only question to that is what took them so long. 9:03 8:43 8:31 8:30 8:34 8:30 8:28 8:30 8:29 8:30 8:31 8:28 8:30 8:30 8:30

I am not a professional runner, but I did run past a Holiday Inn Express last night. ; )
Will run for scenery.
Well, my bold attempt at cooking fish turned out kinda "meh".
For all zesty fresh ingredients, the sauce turned out pretty liquidy and so the fish (in leaky banana leaves) didn't pick up very much flavor. For a teeny bit more money, I could have had a restaurant do a fantastic job of it.
Moral : Stick with steak !
At least the wine I grabbed turned out pretty decent. Gotta finish it all tonight, though, b/c tomorrow's a work day for me.
Stupid feet!
Stupid elbow!
FreeSoul- Nice long run!
Basya- Good decision on the long run, good luck with it tomorrow. Hope you get over that bronchitis soon.
Damaris- Great job on your long run! Fastest 20-miler yet is a great sign. You must be feeling good about your races coming up this fall.
granite- Since you got faster on each interval, you probably can be running them a little faster than you thought. Nice repeats!
LRB- Way to go-- that is one SERIOUSLY consistent long run! Very impressed.
lilac- Sorry about the long run, this humidity's tough to deal with.
Zelanie- Almost running twins, I decided to cut it short after 3.5 (my typical short loop). Don't know why I thought I'd want to do an extra .5!
Dave- Congrats again on a good race, I enjoyed the RR. Lesson learned for next time re: the coffee!
Marjorie- Great long run! Starting September off strong.
Kristin- Sometimes you need a couple days off. Hope the jogging loosened you up a bit for tomorrow.
jjs- Hope you feel better soon!
Baboon- Nice intervals! Enjoy your cookies.
Scotty- Ugh, that weather doesn't sound fun. Good job on getting the run in.
Tom- Enjoy your run tomorrow! Hope your drive was OK.
Getting ready for my race tomorrow!
Meaghan : rots o' ruck !
Still too smokey from the fire to run outside, so I had to do my 13 mile run on the treadmill today. I'm officially sick of the treadmill. But, I finished at a little over 40 for the week -- my third week in a row over 40, which is a new best for me.
LRB -- crazy even on those splits.
Megan -- Good luck tomorrow!
Life is good.

Nice job, outoftheblue. You do what you have to do to get those miles in.

I started a blog about running :) Check it out if you care to
Thanks! Hope to see you too and good luck if not!
You will kill it, running short mileage today ensures it! I thought about doing the same, but ended up running six lively miles the day before my event.
Congrats Blue, that is a nice accomplishment!
js, did someone say decent wine? 8-P

21.1 in no particular hurry today. I was tempted to do another 5.1 but deferred to the little voice that said "save it for the race". A weak thunderstorm rolled through shortly after, leaving about 15 minutes of incredible as it moved on just before dark. Soft non-directional tan light glowed from the clouds, making everything look like an old photograph for a bit. I went out on the porch and just stared.

Incredible place this world we live in.
