Weird. I raised 2 kids all the way through high school and never remember hearing about anyone getting this.

SRD. I woke up with something pretty nasty stuck deep in my lower right shoulder. Wish I could sneak out for a massage but I'll just need to let it run its course.
I admit I had never heard of anyone who had had scarlet fever until I met this family. They drive me nuts with their low immune systems.

Morning dailies! It was finally cold enough to dress for winter today!! Tried out my new fancy tights and they are just lovely. Did 6 through the woods and by the lake
I would share my glove system which works well for me, but we have probably been over this repeatedly, with the conclusion you just have a medical condition known as ice-block hands.
That's pretty much it, thankfully I found a system that works for me as well I just didn't think it would need to institute it so early in the season but that's what I get for thinking.
Nice job with the swimming! I had no issues sleeping when I hit the pool with regularity.

Throwback Thursday? I dug up the activity from my old NikePlus account from my first marathon. Oct 12, 2011. Ran a 4:16. Haha...the splits in my last marathon were way worse! Faster, but worse.

I ran my first two marathons with a standard digital watch which actually was not all that different than with a Garmin except I don't have evidence of the carnage. lol

Did they vaccinate the kids? I have never heard of scarlet fever in this day and age.

Apparently it's a fairly common bacterial infection. You cannot vaccinate against it. Same thing that causes strep throat.
There is no vaccine. There is an efficient antibiotic, though, which is probably why we do not talk about it anymore. But it's still around. This is what I got:
Scarlet fever is not as common as it was a century ago when it was associated with deadly epidemics. The development of antibiotics and their early use in the treatment of streptococcal infections has prevented many cases of scarlet fever and the long-term complication of rheumatic fever.
Scarlet fever occurs mostly in children aged 4-8 years. By 10 years old, up to 80% of children have developed lifelong protective antibodies against streptococcal toxins, whilst children younger than 2 years still have acquired maternal antiexotoxin antibodies. Males and females are affected equally.
So it's not as common as it used to be, but it's still very contagious amongst children. But because we can treat it easily, we don't have the epidemics we used to have. My, you people are curious today!
Now hear this: I AM HUNGRY!
That is all.
Now hear this: I AM HUNGRY! That is all.
Thankfully my marathon training appetite has died down.
Need to see a chiro for my back and neck, but am out of benefits and out of money.
Not good.
It's 84F down here. Can you guys send me some of that fucking weather? Thank you. Sans wind; my lungs are delicate.
So, the boss forced us into a meeting at 11am which meant I had to cancel my meeting (11am) for 1pm. And then, he canceled his meeting! Agh!
