Congrats! Doesn't matter how many times you read about it in other people's RR's; you have to experience it for yourself to appreciate how hard it really is, right?

Well said.
April, it doesn't matter the time. 26.2 miles always hurts. You did it. You rock. Congratulations, Ms Marathoner Runner!

So cool you had a cheer canyon for your finish. First one is all about just doing it and enjoying the whole experience.
Look forward to your RR.

Hi guys! I am done. It was much, much harder than I anticipated, and warmer than it should have been, and SUNNY. But I (mostly) had a good time. Made some new friends out there, high-fived the kiddos, said thank you to every volunteer. I finished about an hour slower than I had planned, around 6:08, but I still got my medal and I'm glad the first one is out of the way. I'll leave most of it for an RR but I didn't train as well as I had hoped because summer SUCKS. Off to a beer garden with my friends to eat ALL THE FOOD.

That's my girl. Sounds like you will be doing more of them. I am only sorry I was not able to travel to run it with you. But I'll make a promise and I will run one with you one day!

Congrats April! Sorry it was so tough for you, but what a great attitude to have! Training through a tough summer can be really taxing. Hopefully you have a lot of lessons and got a lot of good experience to make your next one more enjoyable! Way to go!
